Did God create the Earth?

Because that's what I hear in churches and stuff, but in science, we learn that it was created 4.5 billion years ago when it was just a hot ball of magma, then it slowly started to cool, form an atmosphere, rain for millions of years, create oceans, then microscopic forms of life, then dinosaurs, etc. And that makes much more sense and that's how i believe it was created. But i feel like i'm going against my religion. I've never been really too religious, and I've always believed in God, but some stuff doesn't really make sense. Like, help!?
