Does anybody know what the source is that states al-Hakim drove out the Jews in Israel in 1012?

I've seen that mentioned here but can't find any souce. I found this entry in Wikipedia "al-Ḥākim ultimately allowed the unwilling Christian and Jewish converts to Islam to return to their faith and rebuild their ruined houses of worship" I know that it's not the best for information, but it seems to contradict what I read here. I wish to know more about the real history and not the propaganda espoused by both sides.
